The present paper, of an analytical and theoretical nature, aims to investigate the work and contributions of Anni Albers to the development of weaving and her influence on contemporary textile art, seeking to understand the inherent interdisciplinarity in her practice. Traditionally regarded as applied or minor arts, the artist’s works innovated in terms of visual expression and technical boldness. The research methodology prioritizes an unsystematic literature review, a qualitative approach, and documentary research. The theoretical framework is grounded in the writings of Anni Albers herself, as well as those of scholars specializing in her oeuvre, including Ambler (2018), Smith (2010; 2017), Weltge (1993), and Weber (1999). The research aims to contribute to a more comprehensive understanding of weaving as a medium of sensitive, critical, and poetic knowledge.
