The application of embroidery is as old as the one of tissue. Fine examples of embroidery are proof of an excellent work that lasted in ancient civilizations and prevails until the present day. Each country has its own distinct style of embroidery, which shows the culture and image of its history and its tradition. In Portugal stands out among other types of embroidery the most
refined embroidery of Castelo Branco, assimilated by the location where it was hosted, becoming characteristic of the area of Castelo Branco. Like all traditional Portuguese embroidery, it felt, with time, the need to introduce innovating features, thus resulting in garments applied in contemporary design.
