Body and fashion: representations of the city of Fortaleza

The proposed analysis addresses the discourses and subjectivity in the female body during the early decades of the twentieth century, and in this particular textelects the city of Fortaleza, capital of Ceará, noticing the constructions and (re)invention of identities and discourses
to the female body. The Revista Ilustrada Bataclan, directed to the feminine universe which circulated in the city during this period, is analyzed as a historical source in dialogue
with a cultural and social construction that was intended to be modern.
