Fashion design: a new culture

It is about the complexity of the Brazilian contemporaneous scenery, that demands a new methodology for the consumption goods project to the body, postponed by the historical rationality of design. It proposes the overcoming of the fashion culture that creates objects with no more than esthetic criterions, to a systematic approach to the subject. It presents a brief historical of the implementation of the of the design and of the fashion in the Academy. With the tensions between design and fashion calmed down, the article illustrates the connections between both of them, in many different situations. It also shows quantitative data about the academic teaching and the latest net of publications, museums, research centers, associations, institutes
and libraries, whose interest is to consolidate in Brazil, design as a process and strategy.
